Cassandra Callaghan is the Chief Information Officer for the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan. She has more than 28 years in information technology. In her role at U-M, Cassandra is responsible for overall IT innovation and strategic planning, IT operations and service center,, data governance, data analytics, security, clinical technologies, educational technologies, websites and custom web solutions. In her previous role at U-M, she was responsible for launching the first mobile application (the Michigan app) and implementation of Two-Factor Authentication. Prior to her work at U-M, Cassandra held leadership roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Comcast. She also worked as a consultant and analyst for Compuware, USinternetworking Inc., Roush, and Eastern Michigan University. Cassandra holds a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership and Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Information Systems. She has certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and ITIL Foundations. Cassandra has contributed to white papers published with Educuase, published a research study with the Journal of Dental Education, and presented at various vendor conferences. She is currently the Secretary of the Dental Informatics Section for the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), and the Chair of University of Michigan’s Strategic Technical Advisory Council.
