Jon Amelio

Jon Amelio is the Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of Union County in Monroe, NC. Before joining Union County in August of 2021, Mr. Amelio, held management positions in the private sector in the Internet, construction, consulting, manufacturing and energy industries. Most recently, Mr. Amelio was the Chief Technology Officer for one of Pennsylvania’s largest public sector educational services organizations. Mr. Amelio oversaw strategic planning, network operations, enterprise applications, staff development and budgetary control.

Mr. Amelio holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and is currently participating in the CGCIO Certification program at UNC Chapel Hill
