William Showers

William D. Showers is Chief Information Officer with Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC), a higher education institution dedicated to the training and career placement assistance of students in fields like information technology, design, healthcare, business, culinary arts, and trades. Mr. Showers is a graduate of PTC and, other than two years consulting and troubleshooting with a technology management company, has spent his 20-year career with his alma mater rising from Network Technician to Supervisor, then to Director before representing his department at the executive level as CIO since 2018. His numerous accomplishments with the college include piloting machine learning initiatives, initiating new technologies and product rollouts to streamline and improve services across departments school-wide, enhancing business intelligence efforts, and leading technology requirements in new on-campus construction. He also serves as a mentor to current students and has held a strategic role on PTC’s COVID-19 Taskforce.
